What a great day was spent with Corrie (retro mummy) and a wonderful bunch of quilty gals sewing up blocks and making quilt tops for the flood victims of Queensland. A great turn out and boy the machines were buzzing. We had a yummy morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Lots of chatter and laughter. Thank you sooooo much Corrie for your kind heart and great organising skills. Oooh and a bonus Corrie so kindly gave every quilter who attended a charm pack, so generous and kind. Thank you.

MY BIRTHDAY

It was my birthday recently and I had a great day with my family - I had french toast with berries for breakfast then off for a picnic at a nearby lake. I took the camera but forgot to take piccies way too busy eating, cucumber sandwiches, almond bread, dips n crackers, passion fruit cookies and Applespritzer to drink. All prepared and organized by my awesome daughter. We both then went off for a pedicure which was a special treat from dd as part of my bday pressie.

Sunset off my deck last night...so magnificent and what an awesome gum tree in my neighbours back yard....it sure does make a mess when the wind blows, spreading its leaves and bark all over MY drive....grrrrr....but I do love watching the sunset through its branches. I guess there are +++++ and ---- for everything. Enjoy

I have been collecting Australiana fabric for sometime and decided to make a quilt with it. A lady at my sewing group had made one and I thought I would do the same one.....then I changed my mind and now I wish I had'nt.....coz it just looks like a bunch of squares.....somewhat disappointed and now it just sits and waits to be made into a quilt....I wonder should I unpick it or just leave it....

WHAT I DID TODAY

40 preschool children with staff and parents went to the Coastal Environment Centre at Narabeen NSW very interesting and a great excursion. We learnt about different creatures in the ocean and especially about the blue ringed octupus.....one little fellow you do not want to be touching....very dangerous and deadly. We also watched a demonstration about our water catchment and what happens to our rubbish when it rains...we sure need to keep out beautiful beaches and rivers clean from plastic bags, plastic, cigarettes, bottles and all forms of rubbish......what a great learning centre foryoung minds....it sure is good to teach them young about our environment....a great day was had by all and I am sure each child took away the fact that we need to save our environment....

Ok this picture should be at the end of the post but lets do this backwards......this is what I needed at the end of my day.....along with reading these awesome books I borrowed from my local library.....

Each week I head off to my local library to meet with an awesome group of women who knit these for a super cause...Wraps with Love...10inch squares knitted up to make a blanket - 28 knitted squares are sewn into a blanket and when finished taken to head office who then send them overseas to the needy....such an awesome cause..these are two of my latest knits.

This is the start of my square which eventually knits into a 10inch square....such an easy thing to do watching tv or sat outside....or if you have a 10 minute wait in the car...they knit up quickly and are very portable.

I read this recently on the blog All Tangled Up In My Underwear...........just this title for a blog makes me laugh....so funny. As I was lerking around this blog I came across this.....enjoy

After Mr. and Mrs. Fenton retired, Mrs. Fenton insisted her husband accompany her on her trips to Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, Mr. Fenton was like most men--he found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunately, Mrs. Fenton was like most women, and loved to browse. One day Mrs. Fenton received the following letter from her local Wal-Mart. Dear Mrs. Fenton, Over the past six months, your husband has been causing quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and may be forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against Mr. Fenton are listed below and are documented by our video surveillancecameras.

1. June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they weren't looking.

2 . July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom.

4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, "Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away."

5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&M's on layaway.

6. September 14: Moved a "CAUTION - WET FLOOR" sign to a carpeted area.

7. September 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told other shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department.

8. September 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?"

9. October 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.

10. November 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.

11. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the " Mission Impossible" theme.

12. December 6: In the auto department, he practiced his "Madonna look" by using different sizes of funnels.

13. December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled "PICK ME! PICK ME!"

14. December 21: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed "OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN !" And last, but not least

15. December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, "Hey! There's no toilet paper in here!" Regards, Walmart

Too funny, I think this should be give to husbands of quilters and lets see how many of them try and perform these acts...........

COMPUTERS

Grrrrrrrrrr computers are great when they are working but when they are not they can be so frustrating. My YS tells me his laptop is fried, the mother board is fried and cannot be replaced.....great.....now what is he going to use whilst in the final stretch of his HSC. Oh the joys of technology, great when working but a pain in the you all know what, when not working

I am so over computers that need fixing in this house, 2 desktops no longer work and now 2 laptops no longer work.......things are just not made to last anymore.

That is my rant, sorry for venting.........

MY SEWING SPACE

Introducing my sewing room.......I have joined two computer tables together and a set of baskets to make this long sewing bench not sure how practical it is with the cover on but I like it at the moment. I have my 2nd machine out at the moment but have to get out the Big J from the other cupboard and set it up. Just run out of time.

I have been waiting so long to have a room just for my sewing stuff and now I have it. Yippee. The walls look like they need something hanging on them but a girl can only do so much in a day.

I love it. I can leave my things out and do not have to worry about packing them away.

Some of my stash on the bookshelf, I have more in bags in the garage but that a job for another day. Note to self, I really should start using up my stash and stop buying fabric.

No I don't play the drums those are my younger sons who also decided he needed to share my space tooo.

I borrowed this book recently from my local library. I am knitting and reading at the same time, nothing like multi tasking. I am soooooo enjoying the warmish days we have had recently.

I had my son and his new girlfriend visit this afternoon. He came to tidy up his vacated room. Tooo late I had already done it and moved my sewing things in. Will post a piccie next time.

Ooooh no it is pouring with rain right now and the wind is blowing a gale. I spoke toooo soon. I was just starting to get used to the warmer weather. Drats and double drats.

WHATS IN MY HOOP

I bought this panel of hexies whilst living in Singapore a few years back. It has sat in the cupboard and has been pulled out and put back a few times. I even made a quilt sandwich and pulled it apart, just not happy with it. I then discovered some squares I had been putting together to make a quilt for my son, who in the middle of making his quilt, informed me he wanted a black and red quilt. Mmmmmmm not blue. So these were set aside and quess what, they work perfectly with the hexy panel and heypresto another quilt is born. I am enjoying quilting around the hexy shapes and keeping warm in the process.

MOVING OUT AND MOVING IN

My son is moving out over the weekend to live with a few of his mates. About time as he is in his mid 20's....yeah I get to have his room as my sewing space, which for sometime has been this little nook in the laundry, not the most inspiring spots in the house, great when it is hot but freezing in the winter.......I am looking forward to putting all my stash in one spot and being able to find it easily without having to look in different boxes around the garage. So you can guess what I will be doing this weekend.

FRIDAY NIGHT SEW IN

As promised pictures of the quilt I added borders to during the Friday Night Sew In. All I have to do now is find some backing and wadding and put it together, mmmmmm that will be the hard part as I need to find backing and wadding to fit. Off to rumage through some bags in the garage as I do not have a studio at the moment(eldest son has moved back home) and alot of my bulky supplies are stored away.

Reminder to self - next time there is a sew in night I am not going to get my machine ready and out on the table as my daughter will think we are having an alteration day. This is what happens when you try to be organised.

I have been seeing a few crochet blogs around lately and thought I would give it a go. A trip to the local opp shop - a cute small shop run by St Johns with such friendly, older ladies in it, you always get a laugh and a story from them. Yeah, they had hooks and a huge ball of wool all for $3.00, bargain.

I then made a quick dash to the local quilt store to check out their open day. Awesome quilts, wonderful fabric, a free cup of coffee with a free magazine, what more could a girl ask for. Great few hours spent there but alas no fabbie was purchased as I had spent my fabric buget earlier this week. Mmmmmmmm some damage could have been made but I will need to save up and go another day. Just fun to walk around and see the quilts and touch the fabbie. Off to have a cuppa and read this magazine.

FRIDAY NIGHT SEW IN

My Friday Night Sew In turned into a Friday Day sew in, not much on the quilting side but lots of alterations made to various items of clothing my daughter purchased and wanted changed, dresses made into skirts, pants made into shorts, dresses made into tops, wow can that girl collect vintage wear. Most of my day was spent cutting, pinning and change the bobbin thread to match the revamped pieces. One bag finished half a bag to go. Boy am I tired. I did manage to sew a border on my quilt and stitch a few crosses on my sampler...........Off to bed for a well earned rest will post pictures on Saturday.

YIPPEE I FOUND THE CAMERA CORD - CAN YOU TELL

Happy dance, happy dance I found the camera cord and now I can load photos.

First I would like to show my new chair, well new to me, I bought this for $15 at a garage sale, bargain, an Ikea special. I love it. I want to recover the seat in some nice fabbie.........so comfy and great to sit in and cross stitch, read, quilt or just sit.

oops you have to turn your head to the side to see this one. Sorry.

I also found rubber gloves in Aldi, hopefully they will work when I eventually machine quilt, thank you to Dancing with Frogs for the tip on where to purchase a pair.

These great dotty fat quarters I purchased from Spotlight early this week, still planning this quilt and it is driving my dotty, hahaha , weak I know.

Last but not least, this is what I discovered in my bathroom tonight, yep whilst sitting on the throne, aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhh. Good job I do not freak over spiders, but if it had been a mouse, you sure would have heard me.

BE AWARE NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR 3 DIGIT PIN FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD

I received an interesting email from a friend recently and thought you all should be aware..........this about giving information over the telephone regarding your Visa card, just a few numbers and they have got you, please read on.

This one is pretty slick since they provide YOU with all the information, except the one piece they want.

Note, the callers do not ask for your card number; they already have it... This information is worth reading. By understanding how the VISA & Master Card Telephone Credit Card Scam works, you'll be better prepared to protect yourself.

One of our employees was called on Wednesday from 'VISA', and I was called on Thursday from 'Master Card'.. The scam works like this: Caller: 'This is (name), and I'm calling from the Security and Fraud Department at VISA. My Badge number is 12460. You r card has been flagged for an unusual purchase pattern, and I'm calling to verify. This would be on your VISA card which was issued by (name of bank). Did you purchase an Anti-Telemarketing Device for $497.99 from a Marketing company based in ?'

When you say 'No', the caller continues with, 'Then we will be issuing a credit to your account.. This is a company we have been watching and the charges range from $297 to $497, just under the $500 purchase pattern that flags most cards. Before your next statement, the credit will be sent to (gives you your address), is that correct?'

You say 'yes'. The caller continues - 'I will be starting a Fraud investigation. If you have any questions, you should call the 1- 800 number listed on the back of your card (1-800 -VISA) and ask for Security.'

You will need to refer to this Control Number. The caller then gives you a 6 digit number. 'Do you need me to read it again?'

Here's the IMPORTANT part on how the scam works. The caller then says, 'I need to verify you are in possession of your card'. He'll ask you to 'turn your card over and look for some numbers'. There are 7 numbers; the first 4 are part of your card number, the next 3 are the security Numbers that verify you are the possessor of the card These are the numbers you sometimes use to make Internet purchases to prove you have the card. The caller will ask you to read the 3 numbers to him. After you tell the caller the 3 numbers, he'll say, 'That is correct, I just needed to verify that the card has not been lost or stolen, and that you still have your card. Do you have any other questions?' After you say No, the caller then thanks you and states, 'Don't hesitate to call back if you do, and hangs up.

You actually say very little, and they never ask for or tell you the Card number.. But after we were called on Wednesday, we called back within 20 minutes to ask a question.. Are we glad we did! The REAL VISA Security Department told us it was a scam and in the last 15 minutes a new purchase of $497..99 was charged to our card.

Long story - short - we made a real fraud report and closed the VISA account. VISA is reissuing us a new number. What the scammers want is the 3-digit PIN number on the back of the card Don't give it to them. Instead, tell them you'll call VISA or Master card directly for verification of their conversation. The real VISA told us that they will never ask for anything on the card as they already know the information since they issued the card! If you give the scammers your 3 Digit PIN Number, you think you're receiving a credit. However, by the time you get your statement you'll see charges for purchases you didn't make, and by then it's almost too late and/or more difficult to actually file a fraud report..

What makes this more remarkable is that on Thursday, I got a call from a 'Jason Richardson of Master Card' with a word-for-word repeat of the VISA scam. This time I didn't let him finish. I hung up! We filed a police report, as instructed by VISA. The police said they are taking several of these reports daily! They also urged us to tell everybody we know that this scam is happening.
Please pass this on to all your family, friends and neighbours. By informing each other, we protect each other.

I am wearing a t-shirt and skirt.

I am creating a medalion style quilt for when winter arrives, I am cheating a little as I have a piece of fabric I just cannot cut into, so I have added borders to it. I am then going to free motion quilt it, this will be a first for me, as I usually hand quilt.

I am going to have coffee with a good friend.

I am reading The Girl who played with Fire, a great read and getting interesting. Trying to pace myself with this book as I do not
want it to end. I have book 3 standing by but then what am I going to read.

I am hoping that South Australia and Victoria do not get anymore bushfires as the heat is soaring there at the moment.

I am hearing that darn dog barking still

Around the house my windows need washing and the paths need sweeping but I just want to quilt.

One of my favorite things listening to the kookaburras singing.

A few plans for the rest of the week quilting, quilting, stash busting and yep quilting.

I got my mojo back, that is my quilting mojo, happy dance happy dance.

I went to Spotlight again, this time to look for some wool, as I thought maybe I could knit, crazy I know as it has been hot in Sydney the last few days and who wants to knit when it is hot, I do of course, plus I just wanted to go for a drive.

Well, a girl cannot not walk past the quilt fabbies without having a peak. Guess what, some fabric called out to me, a few fat quarters in spots spots spots, a bargain at $2.40. I had previously looked at the exact same fabbie earlier this week and could not find anything to match, I became frustrated and that is when I left. I was trying to find fabric similar to a pattern I had and it just was not working.

Today fabbie jumped out at me and sang TAKEN ME HOME, so I did. Well what is a girl to do when they have a voucher to spend and I could not leave the fabrics all alone, could I, hahahahah.

I cannot show piccies as I cannot find my camera cord to upload to my computer, brrrrr that is what happens when you put things in a safe spot, you forget where you put them........so annoying.

Hey who cares, I have my quilting mojo back, yipeeeeeeeeee

A MMMMMMM KINDA DAY

I popped into Spotlight yesterday and found no fabric that really grabbed me and sang take me home, nothing, can you believe it, I walked out empty handed after wandering around and around, gee I hate that.

I have been surfing on blogs and fabric shops today to try and get some inspiration. Yep you guessed it, nothing, can you believe it, nothing grabbed me.

I then decided to check out my own stash, yep I hate that toooooo, nothing seems to go, everything seems to be a mish mash, I am having quilters block aghhhhh.

Quilters block, help me, somebody, give me an idea please. Mmmmm maybe a scrap quilt would be good and use up all those fabrics I am hating at the moment so I can then buy a range of new ones.............yep I think that is the go.

Off to surf the net for scrap quilt inspiration, I think Quiltville or Mary Quilts will need a look. Any other sites you can recommend would be great.

MMMMMMMMMMM a friend emailed me this receipe and I just had to share.

Can you believe it, a quick easy microwave cake recipe made in a mug, yes I said a mug. Have fun trying this one.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (if you wish to use)
A splash of vanilla extract
A large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, mix well. Add egg and mix.
Pour in milk and oil , mix well.
Add chocolate chips,(if you want) add vanilla extract, and mix. Put mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, that is ok.
Allow to cool and place on a plate, add some cream or icecream.

yum yum. How easy is this, I guess we can all have choccie cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner, hahahahahaha. Enjoy

Rainbow Quiz

I have been busy with work and taking care of an injured older son, which has taken up a lot of my time. I have also had painters in fixing up damage caused by water inside our townhouse, damage which has been waiting to be fixed for over 12 months. So now I have freshly painted ceilings and walls, instead of grey ugly ceilings I have nice, crisp, white ceilings and mould free walls. Fantastic my home is now like it was when we moved in 2 years ago. The painting was to take 2 days but took 4. First they painted upstairs, then downstairs and then back upstairs. So all I was doing for for 4 days was moving furniture around. Next will be the replacement of carpets. Not looking forward to this as everything will need to be moved out of 3 bedrooms, yuk,yuk,yuk, that means the cupboards, beds, wardrobes all need to be moved. mmmmmmmmmmmm when will I have time for sewing, yep, when all this is finished and my house is back in order. I cannot wait.

This is what I have been up to in my new improved sewing nook. It is only a small space but it fits my machine and some fabbie so I can sit and sew whenever I feel like it. No more getting out the machine, setting it up and by the time I have done that it is almost time to pack up. Now I can leave my machine up all the time and never have to pack it away for lunch or dinner. I am soooooooo happy I am doing the happy dance. It is not like my old sewing room,in fact nothing like it, not even a room, this is just a little space underneath the stairs. I guess you have to use every space wisely when you have downsized, but hey I can squeese into a small space, especially if it means I can sew when I like. I love it love it love it, happy dance happy dance.
I really should be getting my fabbie ready for the 2009 quilt challenge, but the gremlins have moved my scrap stash and I cannot find it. I will have to send out a search party into the garage and look in a few boxes. Yep I should do that now otherwise it will be the end of the year and I will be still gettin ready.
This is what my dog gets up to whilst I am sewing in my nook. What a life....... Off to search for my scrap box. Have a wonderful day.

Yep I have been wasting my time as usual, watching the Olympics, surfing the net and checking out blogs, gee time speeds by and before I know it I have not done any sewing and its time to make dinner. I need to organise myself much better. So you guessed it, no sewing today and no piccies either as blogger has gone crazy.

I did find this on OzCountryQuilting blog so I am sharing it with you all, come on sing along, I know you want to. Which brings me to the thought of how many times I have seen this movie, mmmmmmmmmmm yep heaps, as in Australia the local tv always has The Sound of Music on once a year, yep I can feel a song coming on, sing loud and clear now gals hahahahah

To commemorate her birthday,actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a special appearance at Manhattan 's Radio City Music Hall for the benefit of the AARP.
One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My Favorite Things' from the legendary

On the quilt front I have been putting together the Living the
Dream quilt. I always seem to do things the hard way. I cut
out all the stitcheries and then discovered it was a bit hard to
redwork them in a hoop, as my hoop is round not rectangle, so I have
been sewing up the rows, which will make doing the stitcheries easier, for me at least..

Blogger has been playing up for me so no piccies. I am also
having a bit of computer problem so I have not been using it
very much. Instead I have been stitching on my redwork blocks
watching the mens gymnastics, boy
are they strong and very agile. Well came across this in an email and thought I would share.

I think I use alot of those words hahahahahahah

9 WORDS WOMEN USE

1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and
you need to shut up.

2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. FivE
minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes
to watch the game before helping around the house.

3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you
should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4. Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

5. Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement
often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and
wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about
nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6. That's Okay:This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a
man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and

7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say
you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she
says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at
all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' ..... that will bring on a 'whatever').

8. Whatever: Is a women's way of saying I do not care what the blazes you do.

9. Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning
this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is
now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's
wrong?'

BATMAN AT THE MOVIES

Well I headed off to see Batman at the movies last night.
It was awesome, action boy backed, what would you expect,
guns, cars, buildings being blow up, but it was great.
I love watching Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine, 2 fine actors.
Batman's voice was a bit off though. I was a bit sad at times
watching Heath Ledge act in his final movie, but he was awesome.
I just wonder who is now going to play the Joker. An awesome
movie if you want 2.5 hours of action, twist and turns suspense.

RAIN, CUTTING AND CLEANING

Well it was a cold rainy day here in Sydney so I decided it was time to clean my ceiling, yep the ceiling. Due to renovations around the complex I live in and as a consequence my living room ceiling has gradually been growing mould, great I know, it is disgusting. I could not stand it any longer so out came the bleach, step ladder, wipes and off I went. So now my place smells like bleach, but the ceiling looks awesome. I then had time to cut up a few rectangles for Ruth's Quilt until I started to feel achy and tired. So now I am having a wine and a rest before tea.

This is the family dog who I am sure thinks he is a human, a horse, a cat and a lion all rolled into one. He sure is good company. Having a beaut sunny day here in Sydney and look what came to play in my postage stamp size front garden, look closely, beautiful Rainbow Lorrakets.I love seeing them fly around and sitting in the old gum tree.

I have been cutting up my rectangles in preparation for the start of my new stitchery/quilt. In between washing, taking the dog for a walk and having lunch I have cut up all of these.
I am off to cut up the rest of this lot and hope I have enough fabbie picked out otherwise it is back into those fabbie bags. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

I am on the final stretch of the stitching and it will be off to rummage through the fabbie bags for chrissie fabric, or a trip off to the fabbie shop could be the go...... should I be good or should I be bad.

I was just about to head out the door and take the dog for his daily walk when it started to pour down. Boy am I lucky as I would have been soaked. So now I am working on my redwork. I am really enjoying this piece, so much that I even sit in bed stitching it, am I crazy or what!!!!!!! my kids think I am if there looks are anything to go by. I only have a quarter left to stitch and then I have to rummage through my fabbie bags to find the chrissie squares I need to complete it as a runner. Not looking forward to that as the bags are heavy and difficult to get tooooooo. At the time I did not have a camera to take a piccie as DH has broken yet another one, three in fact, but I was able to borrow my DS.

This is an awesome tidy bin. I think it is sooooooo nice that I use it to carry my redwork, hoop, needlecase and glasses.

I had such fun at the sleepover, so much that I did not get to sleep until after
11pm and woke up late this morning. I have been playing catch up all day but now I can sit and stitch.

REDWORK REDWORK

This is the christmas runner I have been working on. Piccie below is the start of the sleepover, not such a good photo, yes, I have made progress, I think I have!!!!!!
Above left, the after piccie, mmmm yes I am sure I have made some progress, if only a little, remember slow and steady wins the race.......... could have been tooooo much wine, food and movie watching, what the heck, I had a great time.

I have actually been making hard work of my redwork, why does that not surprise me. Yep, I have been stem stitching my redwork and recently on Rachel's blog http://www.fourwisemonkeys.blogspot.com/ after she very kindly explained how she does such beautiful work, I discovered that I should have been back stitching, which I now find is much quicker, as I tried it out on some other pieces. I am still stem stitching this piece as I had already started and did not want to unpick, yuk, who said that............

Well the kettle has boiled, anyone for a milo, time for me to pack up as I am getting sleepy, guess that means I am off to bed.

AWESOME GIFT FROM SARAH

Ooops I have not blogged in ages. Well my camera has broken and I have not been able to take any piccies for ages. We have been having major renovations at our place and we have ISSUES with it, especially when it rained for one whole week and we suffered major leaks and now we have mould growing on the lounge ceiling, yuk........... The builders are playing pass the buck and we have to sit and wait, not happy............

I did receive a beautiful gift from Sarah at Sarah's Crafty Nook. Sarah was having a giveaway on her blog and I was so lucky to win - http://sarahsprimtreasures.blogspot.com/ head over and visit her and you will see what I have won. It is awesome and I have been using it all weekend. I love it. The photos do not do justice to how wonderful my gift is, her work is beautiful. Thanks again Sarah - I am one lucky quilter.

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller. He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.'Miss Whack, I'd like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday.' Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name. The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it's okay, he knows the bank manager. Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.The frog says, 'Sure. I have this,' and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed. Very confused, Patty explains that she'll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.She finds the manager and says, ' There's a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral.'She holds up the tiny pink elephant. 'I mean, what in the world is this?'(you're gonna love this)The bank manager looks back at her and says...'It's a knickknack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan, His old man's a Rolling Stone.'(You're singing it, aren't you? Yeah, I know you are........) Never take life too seriously! Come on now, you grinned, I know you did!!!

TEA DYE FABBIE

As it was raining for most of Monday here in Sydney I decided to start the SAL a small progress for a lot of hours, as I did of course have to pull out some stitches after deciding I did not like the 2 over 2 and decided on 1 over 1. Not sure if this is going to be tooooo small but I prefer this look, also I think the fabbie maybe toooo small for 2 over 2. Happy Stitching

I have changed the colour of my white aida to a lovely antique look for the Bent Creek SAL. I love the aged look when you tea stain.

My DS decided he would make a choccie cake for morning tea. This is his 2nd attempt making a cake and I can tell you it was very yummy. DD made the delicious icing. I am off to have a cuppa and a piece. Happy Stitching

FABBIE FOUND

Well I have had a wonderful time trying to find a piece of fabbie big enough to use on the Snapper Sal and as I am using 18ct this piece is enormous. I have rumaged through my stuff and found a white piece, which I want to try and tea or coffee dye to give it an aged look. I will post a picture of the before and after later. I still need to find DMC threads, so another hunt begins.......... Yeah off to make a cuppa and save the teabag for the dye.
